I got too much work lately, so I couldn´t post this close to his passing, but I felt it terrible, his artwork was not my favourite but his comics gave me something unusual, they were the bridge to a very dear girlfriend.

Story was like this, it was `98 or so, and I got a total crush on a girl from my school, a year behind. I was in the last year, 6th and because the school was VERY desorganized, my time in the schoolyard was different from other years, so only one day of the week I shared the same time on the yard with this girl. I got courage and said something, one cold morning, we chatted a little, and I felt it was the biggest step already made, so after school, tottally confident, I went to a comic store near the way to my house, to celebrate buying a comic, so nerd I was.

And... surprise! She was there, buying Witchblade, and I could not in a millon years have imagined she was a comic fan! That was it, we inmmediately connected and became very good friends, partners in some terrible comic experiences and such!

And I have to thank this man, who drew this comic some twelve thousand km away and never knew of me, or this little and amazing girl that admired him so much, and yet, I feelt him very close all these years.

And somehow, I know I will be able to pay back this debt, maybe connecting two other people, thousands of km away, with my artwork.
